Taiwan Journal of Pediatric Dentistry
In the era of the Pediatric Dentistry Association before the establishment of TAPD, two issues of a brief newsletter were created and published under the name of the Proceedings of Pediatric Dentistry Seminar in 1990. At the beginning of the founding of TAPD, four issues of a newsletter were published in 1992. The first issue of the journal of pediatric dentistry was planned in 1997 and it was deemed the pilot issue. With considerable submissions from all over Taiwan, ten issues of the journal were published between 1996 and 1998. The journal was first entitled the “Republic of China Journal of Pediatric Dentistry” in 2001 and was subsequently renamed the “Taiwan Journal of Pediatric Dentistry” since the 4th issue of the 2nd volume in 2002. “Taiwan Journal of Pediatric Dentistry” is not only the affiliated journal of TAPD but also a journal for all pediatric dentists. It represents the progress of pediatric dentistry in Taiwan and hopefully will soon make an important impact internationally.

Taiwan Journal of Pediatric Dentistry
TAPD established the Committee of Policy and Advocate for Children’s Oral Health based on the decision from the 3rd joint meeting of the 15th Board of Directors and Supervisors on March 14th, 2021, and changed the name to Advisory Committee for Children’s Oral Health based on the 6th joint meeting on October 16th, 2021. The purpose of the committee is to serve as a think tank for TAPD in assisting with recommendations and the development of policies for children’s oral health. The committee will plan professional guidelines for pediatric dentistry, provide professional advice on pediatric oral care issues, and make timely updates according to evidence-based medicine. TAPD officially published the book “The Clinical Guideline for Pediatric Dentistry” in April 2023.

TAPD entered the age of 30 in 2022. The 30th Anniversary Commemorative Publication is a valuable record of our historic past and contains our vision, mission, values, and duties in the planning. Let us look at our past selves at this time and plan the next thirty years.

TAPD’s 10th Anniversary Commemorative Publication, 1992-2002
TAPD entered the age of 10 in 2002. Ten years old is a memorable age at which one can look back on the past and look forward to the future. This commemorative publication aims to use words and pictures to connect time, space, and people throughout the past ten years, or even during the Pediatric Dentistry Association period before the founding of TAPD, to create a lasting memory before everyone forgets.
