0-3 歲的孩子,在這個時期影響最大的因素,就是睡間/睡前喝奶的問題。
一歲之前,小孩牙齒長得還不多,而且可能有生理上的需求,可以先慢慢養成喝奶後一定要刷牙、清潔口腔後的習慣再睡覺。
但一歲之後,睡前喝奶可能只剩下心理上的需求,卻會大大的增加小孩蛀牙的機率,建議喝奶跟睡覺的間隔時間慢慢拉長,短至半小時,長至一個小時會更好,讓小孩覺得喝奶是喝奶、睡覺是睡覺,讓小孩把兩件事情分開,比較容易戒除睡前討奶喝的習慣。
For children aged 0-3 years, the single most influential factor is night time/bedtime feeding. Before 1, when few teeth have erupted, night time feeding may be a physical need. Parents can help children develop a habit of brushing teeth and cleaning their mouths after drinking milk before going to bed.
However, after children turn 1, night time feeding may only be a psychological need and will significantly increase the risk of tooth decay. It's advised to increase the time between the last feeding and bedtime, from 30 minutes, or better, 1 hour. It's easier to wean them off their night time milk habit when parents try to disassociate milk and sleep.
