當乳牙蛀牙的程度已經無法藉由其他治療恢復健康並執行功能（例如殘根、牙根齲齒和牙根吸收等），即建議拔除。

由於這個年齡層的孩子，距離換牙仍有一段時間，我們必須根據被拔除乳牙的位置及數量，後牙區可製作空間維持器來維持未來恆牙萌發的空間，前牙區可製作局部假牙恢復發音、美觀的功能及維持空間。

When a primary tooth is so decayed that its function and health can't be restored by other treatments, such as residual roots, severely decayed or root resorption, extraction is recommended.
For children in this age group, there's still quite some time before the primary dentition moving to permanent ones. Therefore, a space maintainer is required in the posterior segment based on the number and location of the primary teeth extracted to preserve the space for future tooth eruption.
In the anterior zone partial denture can be installed to restore esthetics and assist in pronunciation and space maintanence.
